University at Buffalo
Pursuing BSc in Biomedical Engineering
3.9 GPA as of January 2024

Employment

2017-2023 - Camp Counselor

I worked at Camp Windy Meadows, a local Girl Scout camp, for 2-3 weeks each July (except in 2020). I supervised children aged 5-12, as well as planned and executed camp activities.

2023 - Tutor

In Spring 2023 I tutored two high school students in physics in preparation for their AP exams. In addition to teaching basic physics concepts, I developed my time management and logistics skills.

Engineering Project Experience

2023 - Pool Lift Design Project

For this project, as part of my Statics (EAS 207) class, I:

Research Experience

2021 - Research Workshop

I participated in Dr. Sai Yendamuri’s virtual summer workshop at Roswell Park, analyzing a dataset and assisting in a literature review which resulted in a publication.

2023 - Gait Analysis Study

I worked in Dr. Sisto’s lab at the University at Buffalo, where I gained experience with Vicon Nexus 2 and used biomedical sensors to collect data from human subjects.

Clubs

2022-2024 - Debate Society

I served as the treasurer of the club beginning in fall 2023, and worked alongside the other 3 members of the executive board to increase membership, plan events, and collaborate with other clubs. Additionally, I gained experience working as part of a large, bureaucratic organization (the UB Student Association).

2022-2024 - UB Improv

I participated in weekly improv comedy workshops to improve my ability to think on my feet and work with others.

Awards

2021 - Girl Scout Gold Award

Similar to the rank of “Eagle Scout” in Boy Scouts, I earned the award for my efforts to identify and ameliorate food insecurity in my school district. My analysis of survey data from the local Food Pantry, combined with public data on number of students eligible for free or subsidized school lunches, revealed nearly 360 students qualify for subsidized lunches but do not use the local food pantry. I updated previously-created (2015) brochures of available federal, state, and local assistance programs, and school staff distributed them.

Tech Literacy

Programming Languages

I am familiar with Python, MATLAB, and R. I also have some experience programming in Java, and using HTML/CSS to create websites.

Applications

I am proficient with Autodesk Inventor, Solidworks, Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
